Dear Traditions Home Owners,

Spring storms in Texas often bring damaging winds and hail, which inevitably leads to roof or home damage. When we experience an event, you should schedule a consultation with an established company. Often times, the ones that walk the neighborhood are not that. Do your homework on any company before you agree to any terms or work.

Also, whichever company you elect to go with, remind them that we are a no soliciting community. If your neighbors approach you or them for a recommendation or consultation, great. The company is not allowed to go door to door looking for “other work in the neighborhood”.   They should be respectful of the HOA rules regarding debris and site cleanup as well.

Please also remember to submit your home approval documents by using the “Contact Us” form on the site and requesting an approval form as required prior to beginning any construction. Any construction started without approval from the HOA can result in fines.

Dear Traditions Home Owners,

I hope everyone and their families are safe and healthy after this unprecidented freezing weather event. I know many may need assistance with repairs and clean up. Feel free to contact me directly at 281-635-5172. You may need to leave a voicemail as my phone filters callers I don’t have in my contacts.

Also, I want to make sure everyone knows that we have a plumber living in the subdivision. He is overworked and busy as they all are, but I am sure he would get to you ASAP.

Stay safe and be sure to look out for your neighbors and friends as the warmer weather sets in and we all recover from this.

Greetings all and happy new year.

Please watch your email for infomation about our annual meeting scheduled for Thursday 1/28 @ 7pm. This meeting will be held virtually via the Zoom app, but you can also use your computer or phone without the app. Instructions are in the email. Please plan to attend so we can catch up, update you on 2020, and plans for 2021.

You should have also received a Board members voting ballot. You can scan (or take a photo) and email your signed and completed ballot to Felicia (felicialeflar@imcmanagement.net). You can also drop it off with a board member prior to the meeting.

To celebrate the season we’re inviting your family (kids) to hang an ornament from the Traditions Tree at the esplanade with the small cable ties provided at the mailbox house.

Hello Traditions,

We must all be doing our part to curtail this pandemic. I am not going to get into the politics, statistics, or opinions (there are already plenty of those).  I would like to think that we can all agree that PEOPLE ARE DYING.  All ages, gender, ethnicity, religions and social status.

1. Stay home. Social distancing is hard, but it saves lives and reduces the strain on our medical assets.
2. Wear a mask. Wearing a mask has proven time and again to slow/prevent the spread of COVID-19.
3. Sanitize your hands.
4. Don’t touch your face.

Here is the rub.  Hospitals say they are becoming over crowded quickly.  Soon people with not only Covid, but cancer, or in a car accident, will not be able to get into a hospital and get possibly life saving care when needed.  Unacceptable.

All lives matter. We all need to be doing our part to ensure the health and well being of every human on earth.  Step away from the rest of the discussion and rants.  We are all members of the human race….and the most unavoidable and undeniable fact of all of this…PEOPLE ARE DYING.  Unacceptable.

Hello Traditions,

I hope everyone is doing well during these “unprecedented” times.  It seems the world has gone a bit over the edge to many of us.  But this has happened before, in fact, history is full of events just like this….most of us have forgotten or never experienced anything of this magnitude.  Since 1900 the US has experienced several pandemics/epidemics such as Polio (1916-1955 nearly eradicated by vaccines), Influenza (1918, 1957, 2006-H1N1), and AIDS (1981-present).  So what makes this one different?  In my opinion, global media and the instant notification.  Even as recently as 2006 and the H1N1 pandemic, we were just on the cusp of information “in your hand”…literally.  Today the information reached billions instantly and people began to panic while others played it off as “plots of the Democrats” or “China’s problem”.  The question left to historians will be if we acted appropriately with Social Distancing edicts, quickly enough to “flatten the curve”, and/or responsible enough to save lives.  Those will be tough questions to which I am not sure what the answers will be.

So, let’s stick to what we know in the moment, and leave the rest to history.

3. Don’t touch your face
4. If you need to go out in public, wearing a mask or face guard will not only help to protect you, but it will protect others in case you are not showing symptoms.

There will be hard times ahead, there will be lives lost, and the world will never be the same but let’s all take a breath and remember…this too shall pass.  The proof is history.
